IBF held an Anti-corruption workshop for Senior Zambia Correctional Officers in Kabwe on the 14th October 2022 at Urban Bliss Hotel. Officers that attended the workshop where from Zambia Correctional Headquarters, Central Region as well as the Officers In charge of the facilities where IBF is implementing the Building Bridges Project in Kabwe. The workshop was facilitated by two officers from the Anti-corruption Commission in Kabwe.
The guest of Honour during the workshop was Commissioner General for Zambia Correction Service Mr Fredrick Chilukutu who was represented by the Director of Administration, Training and Development Deputy Commissioner Daniel Chiwela and during his remarks he mentioned the importance of such trainings as it provides an opportunity for officers to learn and it provides the information that would help the officers execute their duties with integrity by equipping them with knowledge on corruption and how to address it. During the workshop the ACC presented in detail about Corruption, Its definition, pre-conditions for corruption , the nature of Corruption, determinants of corruption, effects of corruption, role of Public Officers in addressing corruption and the ACC and it functions. Officers were able to ask questions and make contributions in line with the work they do in the correctional service.
